ABC Verdun Shopping Mall Lighting Project

As Pamir Lighting, we delivered the lighting solutions for ABC Verdun Shopping Mall, located in the Verdun district of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. In a shopping mall with heavy visitor traffic, our aim was to create a lighting scheme that highlights the architecture while offering visitors a comfortable experience.

The luminaires used in the project were manufactured with a CRI 90 colour rendering index and UGR<19 glare control. CRI 90 ensures that the colours of products in shop windows and stores appear natural and vivid, enhancing the shopping experience. UGR<19 minimises glare, helping visitors spend long periods in the mall without straining their eyes.

In the common areas and high-ceilinged sections, we used the Galaksi Freedom pendant system. Built by joining arc and straight modules end to end, Galaksi Freedom allowed us to draw free forms and flowing lines of light across the ceiling, turning the lighting into one of the most striking design elements of the space. The height-adjustable steel wire suspension system adapted to different ceiling heights.

In corridors and circulation areas where ceiling height needed to be preserved, we chose Galaksi Freedom Recessed, the flush-mounted version of the same system. Sharing the same modular structure and light output as the pendant version, it allowed us to maintain a consistent design language throughout the mall while achieving a clean look integrated into the ceiling.

Bevelled edge COB downlights were used for general and complementary lighting. With an aluminium body offering effective cooling performance and LUMILEDS LED modules rated at 60,000 hours, these luminaires provide balanced and long-lasting lighting across the space.

The Galaksi Freedom system features a satin-finished anodised aluminium body, LUMILEDS, OSRAM and NICHIA LED modules rated at 60,000 hours and an ENEC-compliant constant current driver. Some of the luminaires also offer dimmable DALI driver and emergency kit options, meeting both energy saving and safety requirements.
