Ireland Avolon Atrium Lighting Project

As Pamir Lighting, we delivered the lighting solutions for the atrium of the building of Avolon, one of the world's leading aircraft leasing companies, in Ireland. In the gallery void at the heart of the building, rising through several floors, our aim was to create a bespoke composition of light that highlights the volume and architecture of the space.

At the heart of the project are the half-moon luminaires we designed with the Galaksi Freedom modular system. Created by joining arc modules end to end, these crescent forms were suspended in the gallery void, each at a different suspension height. As a result, the luminaires sit not on a single plane but at different levels, forming a layered and dynamic composition throughout the void. Seen from below, the half-moons overlap one another; seen from above and from different floors, they offer changing perspectives that add depth and movement to the space.

This arrangement turned the lighting into a design element that not only illuminates the atrium but also defines it. The luminaires at different heights carry light to every level of the large, high gallery void, filling the space in a balanced way.

Our ability to realise solutions like this rests on carrying out every stage, from design to production, in our own factory. Our engineering team planned the size, position and suspension height of each half-moon form specifically for this project, ensuring flawless execution of the composition on site.

The Galaksi Freedom system features a satin-finished anodised aluminium body, LUMILEDS, OSRAM and NICHIA LED modules rated at 60,000 hours and an ENEC-compliant constant current driver. The height-adjustable steel wire suspension system allowed each luminaire to be positioned precisely at its own suspension height. The product is also available with dimmable DALI driver and emergency kit options.
