Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Metro Terminal Lighting Project

As Pamir Lighting, we delivered the lighting solutions for the metro terminal connecting Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to the metro line, as well as the airport entrance area. In this space, where thousands of passengers transfer from the metro to the airport every day, our aim was to create a safe, wayfinding-friendly and modern lighting scheme.

In transport buildings used intensively at all hours, lighting is one of the key elements that helps passengers find their way easily, move safely and feel comfortable from the first impression. For this reason, in selecting products we prioritised durability, long life and low maintenance alongside visual comfort.

In the transfer corridors and passenger circulation areas, we used Fleksi Surface Mounted linear luminaires. Fixed directly to the ceiling surface with its slim and simple body, Fleksi was installed without suspension components, so no ceiling height was lost. Positioned in the direction of passenger flow, the linear lines of light clearly define the space and naturally guide passengers towards the airport entrance.

In the airport entrance area and at points requiring emphasis, we used Quadro COB LED luminaires. With its black aluminium body and square form, Quadro adds a modern and strong character to the space, while its high-efficiency COB LED design delivers effective lighting. Combining the linear Fleksi lines with the square Quadro luminaires created a balanced and coherent design language throughout the terminal.

The luminaires used in the project feature an aluminium body, long-life LED modules and ENEC-compliant constant current drivers. Some of the luminaires also offer dimmable DALI driver and emergency kit options, meeting both energy saving and safety requirements.
