Balcılar Feed Industry Lighting Project

As Pamir Lighting, we delivered the lighting solutions for the Balcılar Feed Industry facility. Taking into account the different needs of each section, from the production areas to the administrative building, our aim was to create an integrated scheme that combines industrial durability with office comfort. A key highlight of the project was the use of our new-generation acoustic luminaires, which combine lighting with acoustic comfort, in the administrative building.

Feed production is a demanding environment with high dust levels and machinery running all day. In the production areas, we used Hercules industrial LED luminaires suited to these conditions. With high luminous efficacy, lens options with different beam angles and an aluminium body providing effective cooling, Hercules delivered powerful and uniform lighting in the high-ceilinged production hall. Pendant, busbar and surface mounting options allowed us to create a layout that suits the arrangement of the production line.

In the corridors, we chose Clip-In luminaires. Integrating into the ceiling thanks to their compatibility with clip-in metal suspended ceiling systems, these luminaires provided balanced lighting with a simple, orderly look in the circulation areas.

In the administrative building, we used acoustic luminaires that manage sound as well as light. In offices, echo and background noise directly affect employees' concentration and communication. For this reason, all three acoustic products we chose feature a 9 mm recycled PET felt surface with an NRC of 0.70 to EN ISO 354. This surface provides high sound absorption at speech frequencies, significantly reducing reverberation in the space. The material has a B-s1, d0 fire classification under EN 13501-1.

In open office and meeting areas, we used Elite Daisy Panel 2X Acoustic luminaires. This broad-surface panel with two lines of light delivers light from different angles, softening shadows on desks, while its wide acoustic surface provides more sound absorption within the same ceiling area. Along rows of desks, we used Galaksi Linear Acoustic luminaires. Thanks to a dedicated focusing lens that concentrates light on the desk surface, this product reduces stray brightness spilling sideways and minimises reflections for people working at screens. In areas with lower lighting needs, such as waiting and break-out areas, we used Simetri Slim Panel 1X Acoustic luminaires with a single line of light, achieving full acoustic performance without compromising energy efficiency.

The luminaires used in the project feature LUMILEDS, OSRAM and NICHIA LED modules rated at 60,000 hours and ENEC-compliant constant current drivers. Some of the luminaires also offer dimmable DALI driver and emergency kit options, meeting both energy saving and safety requirements.
